The Oberlander Heritage

Manhattan, the East Side - The year is 1947, and a flourishing Jewish community is populating its busy corner in New York City. New shops go up every so often. The daily hustle and bustle rings with a positive note of life. All feels right, and merriment is apparent in everyone's demeanor.

A man like many others, Leopold Oberlander seeks to benefit from community growth. He has found a need to fill - a way to serve the public and turn in a livelihood in its wake. Oberlander had realized that despite the countless shops and pubs, one would be hard pressed to find a quality croissant, a better bite of bakery.

With his limited resources, Leopold opened his tiny bakery in a restricted garage space. While he knew he was starting small, his devotion was great. He also knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish and how he planned on serving the community a better bite to eat.

To say "the rest is history" would be to perfectly pronounce the decadeslong phenomenal growth of the Oberlander's family bakeries. As customers flocked to obtain Oberlander's baked treats, he found himself rapidly expanding beyond the borders of his immediate community.

In later years the bakery moved to Brooklyn. There it grew into a fullfledged family business. In doing so, Oberlander's introduced new varieties of baked favors and took a defining lead in the industry.

Currently headquartered in New Jersey, the Oberlander's company is recognized the nation over as a distinguished baker of choice cakes and cookies serving all communities and neighborhoods.
